Welcome to Delta Dog Safe™ SA

So what is Delta Dog Safe™?
Put simply, Delta Dog Safe™ is a dog bite prevention program. Primarily aimed at children under 10 years of age, Delta Dog Safe™ provides education to children and adults to reduce the incidence of dog bites in local communities.

Using visuals, audience participation and a life size TOY Dalmatian dog, the half hour presentation teaches children how to read a dog’s body language. The comprehensive program developed by Delta Society Australia incorporates a training seminar for volunteers, a lesson plan a teacher’s resource kit, and early childhood kit and a “take home” brochure for children, so “dog safe” tips may be reinforced at home.

Delta Dog Safe™ has a team of accredited volunteers who present in classrooms, kindergartens and at child health seminars the basics of dog behaviour and appropriate child behaviour.

Delta Dog Safe™ was initiated by Delta Society Australia, a non profit, community based organisation located in Sydney, Australia. Delta Dog Safe™ SA is funded in South Australia through a grant to Delta Society Australia by The Dog and Cat Management Board.
