Program Objectives
- To reduce the incidence
of dog bite in young children, therefore reducing the incidence of personal
trauma as a result of dog bite.
- To measure effectiveness
of this kind of intervention by collecting data on the number of children
presented at Emergency wards of the State's hospitals for dog bite over
a 3 - 5 year period.
- Reduce the cost
to the community for the treatment of dog bite injuries.
- Reduce the cost
to local government in following up dog bite reports.
- Perceived greater
understanding of dog behaviour by the community at large.
